This Image

Right click and save it to your hard drive.  Then open on your PSP desktop.

Okay let's get started.

First Duplicate the snowman image.  Always work on a duplicate :).

Now go to Layers/Promote to Layer

Now go to Effects/Geometric/Circle.

This makes a nice circle to start with.  Okay your globe should be looking like this now:

Now go to Effects/Sharpen/Unsharp mask with these settings:

Radius 1

Strength 75

Clipping 1

Now let's make it so it's not so pinched looking.  Go to Selections/Select All. now with the Magic wand with tolerance set to 0 Feathering set to 0 sample merged unchecked.  Now select the blank (checkered) area of the image and that will automatically select your globe.

Now go to Selections/Modify/Contract and enter 10 in the box. Now go to Selections/Invert and then go to Edit Clear. You now have a nice round globe to work with...

Now go to Selections/Save to Alpha Channel. Click Ok from this image.  Then name it globe selection.  Press Okay. Deselect. Open up your layer palette and rename this layer "image".

Add a New Raster Layer named glass.   Select your Picture tube and set it with the glass globe that your downloaded earlier use the settings at 100% step 200.  Now click and place your globe over the picture. Use the mover tool to get it somewhat centered over the picture.

Select the deformation tool. Drag the edges of the glass globe  beyond the edges of the image like this:

Double click on the checkered area to apply the deformation.

Now go to Selections/Load from Alpha Channel. Now go to Selections/Invert and then Edit/Clear.

Deselect.

Now open your layer palette and turn the opacity on layer 2 down to 75 or so whatever you like.

Now we need to make room for a base so go to Image/Canvas size and use these settings.

Leave the width alone and add 180 pixels to the bottom of the screen.

Add a new Raster Layer name it base.  Select your preset shapes tool set to rounded rectangle.  Antialias checked Retain style unchecked.  Line width doesn't matter.  Set your foreground to null   and your background to white (#FFFFFF).

Draw a rectangle on the lower part of your canvas like this:

Select your selection tool set to ellipse.  Antialias checked and feathering set to 0. Draw an ellipse at where your globe is going to sit into your stand.  You can lower the opacity of the rectangle layer to see where it is.  When you are happy with the selection press the delete key.  Draw another ellipse selection around your rectangle.  Go to Selections/Invert and then with your eraser tool (size 15  hardness 100 Opacity 100 step 15 Density 100) Erase the lower part of your rectangle.

Deselect.  Now use your mover tool and move the base to the bottom of your globe. Now go to Selections/Select All.  Now Selections/Float.  Then go to Effects/Textures/Blinds.  Use these settings:

With your image still selected go to Effects/Texture/Sculpture Select the Gold default setting and change the settings to this.

To make the base to appear round go to Effects/3D Effects/Inner Bevel and use these settings.

Now Add a New Raster Layer named "background" and then go to Layers/Arrange/Send to Bottom.  Grab your flood fill tool with these settings.

Set your background to null and set your foreground to "Pattern".

Now remember that pattern you downloaded at the beginning and minimized on your desktop ??? Well in the menu box find that pattern (it will be at the top) and then flood fill your background with that pattern.

Now add a new layer and name it snow.  Turn off your "glass Layer.  Arrange your layer so that "snow" is between the image layer and the glass layer.

Now go to Selections/Load from alpha channel and select your globe selection again.  Grab your flood fill tool with these settings:

Now flood fill the selection with white (#FFFFFF).  Now go to Masks/Load from Disk/ and select the snowmask.msk.  Go to Masks/Delete and when it asks you if you want it merged with the current layer say yes.

Now press Shift  D  2 times. This will duplicate your image with all it's layer 2 times so that you will have 3 different images.  Now make one of your images active. Open up your layer palette and make the "image"  layer active. Go to Effects/ VM Natural/Sparkle. You can apply this once or 20 times depending on how many sparkles you like .  Make your glass layer visible again (click on the glasses) and Save this image in PSP format in a place where you save your work and name it globeframe1.psp.

Now activate another image and again make sure the Image layer is the active layer go to Effects/VM Natural/Sparkle. and apply this again.  But this time adjust the boxes where I have the arrows pointing so that the sparkles move to another position and are different sizes.

When you are happy with the sparkles on this image save it as globeframe2.psp.

Do this again to the last image and save it as globeframe3.psp.

Now open your Animation shop.  Click on Animation Wizard.

Okay select Same size as First Image then press next.

Select Transparent and then press next.

Select Centered in Frame  Select With the Canvas color  Scale frames to fit unchecked and then press next.

Press Yes repeat the animation indefinitely  and then set the number to 35. Press next.

Press Add Image and then browse to your folder where you saved your images.  Select all three by holding your ctrl key and selecting each one.  Arrange them by using the move up and move down buttons in order 1,2,3.

Press Next and then press finish.

Now select the magnifying tool and put it over the animation frame pres your right mouse button once so you can get all the frames in the screen.

Select your crop tool and drag it around the animation to cut out some of the background like this.

Now go to where you see the button "crop" and press it.  Now go to View/Animation and watch it go.  Click Save and name it Snowmanglobe it will take you through the animation .gif wizard saver thingy.  Set it how you like it. I usually use the second notch to the top for the image quality so that it's not so big but play with it and see what you like!

That's it.  It should be something like this now!
